Terms of service
The terms and conditions for orders placed with TheKeyStore Switzerland.
Updated: 17 September 2026
These Terms and Conditions govern your orders from TheKeyStore Switzerland on thekeystore.ch. In particular, they explain what you purchase, how we deliver it and how we help with activation problems.
1. Scope and contracting party
Your contracting party is Everix GmbH, operator of TheKeyStore Switzerland, Cheerstrasse 13i, 6014 Luzern, Switzerland. You can contact us at info@thekeystore.ch or by telephone on +41 75 577 99 99.
These Terms and Conditions apply exclusively to purchases through thekeystore.ch. Our delivery area comprises Switzerland and the Principality of Liechtenstein. The version incorporated into your order applies. Individual agreements and specific information about the ordered product or selected variant take precedence for product-specific characteristics. Mandatory statutory rights remain unaffected.
2. Offers and formation of the contract
The product listings in the shop allow you to make an offer to purchase. Before submitting a binding order, you can check and correct your selection and details at checkout. The contract is concluded when we accept your order by sending a purchase confirmation by email, or at the latest when we make the ordered product available or deliver it. Please retain the purchase confirmation.
If a product is unavailable or an order cannot be accepted, we will inform you. We refund payments already made for orders we do not accept or cannot fulfil. We will only supply a different product with your agreement.
3. Prices
Prices are stated in Swiss francs (CHF) and include applicable VAT. The total price displayed when you order is decisive. Any delivery charges or additional services are shown before you complete your binding order. Subsequent price changes do not alter contracts already concluded.
Promotions and vouchers are subject to the conditions stated in the relevant offer. Multiple discounts can only be combined where the offer provides for this and the combination is applied at checkout.
4. Payment terms
The payment methods available for your order are displayed at checkout. Payment is made according to the terms shown there. An invoice documents the purchase; it does not automatically mean that purchase on credit with later payment is offered.
For advance payment, we process delivery once the amount due has been received and allocated. Necessary payment or security checks may extend processing times. We do not impose additional charges afterwards that were not agreed before the contract was concluded.
5. Digital and physical delivery
For ESD (Electronic Software Distribution), we provide the product key and associated download or installation information by email. A USB stick or DVD is only included if you order the corresponding variant. We send physical products by Swiss Post to the delivery address provided.
Delivery time depends on the product ordered, the variant and the payment method. The delivery time stated at the time of purchase applies. Advance payment or necessary manual checks may extend processing times. We will inform you of significant delays that become apparent. For details, see Shipping & Delivery.
6. Product keys and software
A product key activates the software version and edition for which it is intended. The specific offer determines what is included, the licence type, operating system, language and technical requirements. A key for a particular edition does not automatically activate another edition or version.
The scope of the right to use the software that you acquire depends on the specific product and its applicable licence terms. Successful technical activation does not replace compliance with those terms of use. Rights to the software and trademarks remain with their respective owners. Your entitlement to the product offered under the contract remains unaffected.
7. Scope of use and number of devices
The permitted number of devices, duration and use are determined by the product description and variant. Offers for one PC, three PCs or five PCs must be distinguished accordingly. Microsoft 365, antivirus products, server products and other differing offers are governed by their own specifications. A multi-device licence does not automatically allow unlimited reactivations or device changes.
8. Perpetual and Lifetime products
Only for products designated accordingly does “perpetual” or “Lifetime” mean that using the purchased software version does not require a regularly renewed subscription. Use is subject to the respective product and licence terms.
This means neither unlimited activations nor an unlimited number of devices. It does not automatically promise free future major versions, unlimited technical support from the manufacturer or permanent compatibility with future hardware. Products with a fixed term are subject to the conditions stated for that product.
9. Deadline for first activation
Please activate your product key promptly and, as a general rule, no later than three months after the purchase confirmation, unless otherwise stated for the product concerned. Once this period has expired, we can no longer guarantee successful first activation.
This period concerns first activation only. It does not limit the subsequent period of use of successfully activated software. Nor is it a general limitation period for claims concerning defects; statutory rights and contractual rights that have already arisen remain unaffected.
10. Reinstallation and changes to devices or hardware
For products expressly intended for one-time activation, reactivation cannot be guaranteed after reinstallation, formatting, a device change or a significant hardware change. This restriction does not apply to all products indiscriminately. Any expressly promised transfer or reactivation options remain valid. Contact us before a planned change if you would like to clarify your product's characteristics.
11. Activation guarantee
If a product key cannot be activated for the first time within the specified activation period despite correct installation of the intended version and edition, contact our support team. We will investigate. If the problem lies with the product key supplied, you will receive a suitable replacement free of charge under our activation guarantee.
We may request reasonable information for our investigation: order number, product, installed version and edition, exact error message and, where appropriate, a screenshot. Send only the information required and never publish your product key publicly.
If a replacement cannot provide a solution that meets the contract or the replacement fails, your statutory rights remain, including cancellation of the transaction or a price reduction where the relevant conditions are met. The voluntary activation guarantee supplements your rights and does not restrict them.
12. Complaints and defects
Please inspect your delivery on receipt and notify us without delay of apparent defects, incorrect items or missing components. Please report hidden defects without delay after discovering them. Describe the problem and provide your order number so that we can assess a solution.
Statutory rights concerning defects and the applicable inspection, notification and limitation rules apply. These Terms and Conditions do not provide for a blanket loss of all claims concerning defects 14 days after delivery. Mandatory rights, particularly those of consumers, are not curtailed. The activation period and voluntary activation guarantee do not replace those rights.
Where an incorrect or defective physical delivery is our responsibility, we bear the necessary costs of a justified return. Please contact us to arrange it; prior approval is not a requirement for mandatory statutory claims.
13. Returns and withdrawal
The conditions for returns following a change of mind, voluntary return rights, statutory withdrawal rights and refunds are set out centrally in our Withdrawal & Returns Policy. Mandatory statutory withdrawal rights of consumers in Liechtenstein remain reserved. A product key that does not work is initially a complaint to be handled under sections 11 and 12.
14. Liability
Our liability is governed by applicable law. These Terms and Conditions contain no blanket exclusion for intentional wrongdoing, gross negligence, personal injury or other cases of liability governed by mandatory law. Statutory claims for non-performance or defective performance remain unaffected.
Please back up your data before installations or significant system changes. This recommendation does not remove our statutory obligations or your statutory rights.
15. Privacy
Our Privacy Policy explains how we process personal data in connection with the website, orders, customer accounts and support. Acceptance of these Terms and Conditions is not blanket consent to advertising or optional tracking.
16. Changes and final provisions
We may amend these Terms and Conditions for future orders. Publication of a new version does not retroactively change existing contracts. More favourable conditions already promised remain valid for the purchases concerned. If a provision is invalid, applicable statutory rules take its place; the remaining provisions continue to apply to the extent legally possible.
17. Applicable law and jurisdiction
Swiss law applies insofar as such a choice of law is permitted. Mandatory protective provisions, particularly those available to consumers in Liechtenstein, remain unaffected. Statutory rules on jurisdiction apply without restriction. In particular, consumers' right to use a legally provided place of jurisdiction at their place of residence is not excluded.
